Christie Getto Young, Esq.
Chief of Staff
Christie Getto Young is the Chief of Staff for Senator DiDomenico. Prior to this position, Christie worked for 10 years as Senior Director of Public Policy at United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, where she lobbied on behalf of low-income children and their families, managed grant making for policy and advocacy agencies, and authored several policy reports. Before joining United Way’s staff, Christie practiced law, representing low-income parents in family law cases and working as a law clerk for the Massachusetts Probate & Family Court. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a Research Analyst for the Massachusetts Legislature’s Joint Committee on Human Services & Elderly Affairs.
Christie is a 1991 graduate of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. She also holds an M.S.W. degree from Boston College and a J.D. from Northeastern University. Christie is currently a Senior Fellow at the Center for Collaborative Leadership at UMass Boston.

Ayla Thorntona
Legislative Director
Ayla Thorntona is the Legislative Director for State Senator Sal DiDomenico. Prior to this position, Ayla was Senator DiDomenico’s Legislative Aide for almost two years. Before joining the team, she interned with United States Representative Tony Cárdenas where she was dedicated to serving California’s 29th district. Ayla also worked as a policy fellow with Boston City Councilor Andrea Campbell’s office working on comprehensive criminal justice reform and working closely with constituents from Mattapan, Jamaica Plain, and Dorchester to help address their concerns.
Ayla received her B.A. in Political Science and Spanish at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2020 and her Master of Public Policy degree from UMass Amherst.

Eli Fenichel
Director of Communications and Environmental Policy
Eli Fenichel is the Director of Communications and Environmental Policy for State Senator Sal DiDomenico. While at Northeastern University, Eli went on co-op at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, and InstaTrac, a state legislative tracking company, in Boston. After graduating from Northeastern University, Eli joined a Somerville City Council campaign as campaign manager, and later joined the State Treasurer’s Office of Economic Empowerment. He is primarily responsible for managing the Senator’s external communications, environmental policy portfolio, and serves as the primary point of contact in the office for press.
Eli received his B.S. in Economics from Northeastern University in 2019.

James Henry
Director of Constituent Services
Jim Henry has served as the Director of Constituent Services for State Senator Sal DiDomenico since Sal’s first election in 2010. In his role, he is responsible for addressing and resolving all constituent inquiries from the Middlesex and Suffolk District. Jim also serves as the Senator's direct liaison to Charlestown, having served on the board of the Kennedy Center since 2013. He has also long maintained close relationships with many other community-based organizations in the neighborhood.
Jim began his career in state government as Director of Constituent Services for former State Senator Anthony Gallucio. Prior to his work in state government, Jim worked in the Inspectional Services Department for the City of Cambridge and served as Director of Constituent Services for the Mayor of Cambridge.
Jim is a graduate of the Labor Studies Program at the University of Massachusetts-Boston.

Yoshki wurtz
Legislative Aide
Yoshki Wurtz is the Legislative Aide for Senator DiDomenico. He started with the office as a Northeastern University co-op student and served as the Legislative Intern for State Senator Sal DiDomenico.
Yoshki is currently a candidate for a Master of Public Administration, a Certificate in Urban Analytics and is set to graduate in May of 2024. Prior to Northeastern, Yoshki attended Soka University of America where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Economics and was a member of the men’s swim and dive team. Yoshki is passionate about free school meal programs, voting and elections, and public transportation.

Yeylin Mendoza E.
Legislative Fellow
Yeylin is a Legislative Fellow for Senator DiDomenico and a rising junior at Pomona College.
She is pursuing a B.A. in Economics and is expected to graduate in 2027. After completing her undergraduate studies, she aspires to continue her education. She’s interested in the intersection of law, economics, business and public policy.

Legislative Intern
Maia Mints is a Legislative Intern for Senator DiDomenico and a rising senior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is pursuing a B.S. in Psychology with minors in Business and Philosophy and plans to pursue a career in law.
Maia’s academic interests include legal theory, economic policy, applied ethics, and issues of accessibility in public systems. She is also in the early stages of developing an individually contracted honors examining the relationship between psychological research and developments in family. After completing her undergraduate studies, Maia plans to work as a paralegal before attending law school.

Maximillian Brunner
Legislative Intern
Maximillian Brunner is a Legislative Intern for Senator DiDomenico. Max is a Saint Michaels college class of 2024 graduate.
Max graduated with a B.A in History and a minor in political science. Following the internship max plans on travelling Europe to then, return to school for a master's in political science or public policy. Not only does he love being of service to the people of Massachusetts but his desire to work in and around politics is a testament to Massachusetts top tier public schooling, teaching students about service of their state and country in ways that directly effect the people.
